21st A meeting of the governors of Scotby Church of England Junior School took place at 7.30p.m. The headteacher gave a presentation of the self assessment prior to our Ofsted Inspection and also her report since the last governors meeting on the 17th June. There was an update on the current Church involvement in School, committee reports of the Finance and Personnel & Pastoral Committees and the approval of the Child Protection Policy, The Safeguarding Statement and the new Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions Policy. I have a meeting of the Premises Committee on the 4th November.
22nd An early meeting of the QE11 Diamond Jubilee Wetheral Playing Field Committee was held at the Club House for the official hand-over. However, after inspection the render on the outside walls has cracked badly and as such it was decided that until the problem was sorted the hand-over should not take place. There then followed a meeting to determine the extent of the car park and as to whether it would link up with that of the new village community centre. The car park is to be developed in two stages the initial area is to be adjacent to the new club house but in the future may be extended when the siting of the football pitches has been determined.
23rd Out canvassing again this time with our Member of Parliament, John Stevenson.
24th Had a meeting with a group of residents who had a problem on which they wanted advice on how to proceed. It lasted some 2 hours!! Have spent a considerable time over the last two days at the Cumberland Infirmary due to a friend having an accident that required a surgical procedure in A & E; and then further consultation and x-rays the following day.
